The Helping Hands of Rehabilitation are proud to offer two volunteer opportunities in New Orleans, La. on Nov. 3, 2010.
Beacon of Hope
Provide manual labor and hands-on assistance painting, planting trees, rehabbing homes and maintaining public parks from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No volunteer is expected to perform work or labor that they cannot/do not want to do. Specific on-site activity may not be assigned until we arrive in New Orleans.

Please include $10 with your registration (payable to Beacon of Hope) to further support Beacon of Hope and defray the cost of supplies.
Goodwill Industries
Provide administrative support and job seeking skills training such as researching the hidden job market, resume writing, interview role playing, basic skills assessment, etc. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This activity will take place at the brand new Goodwill office in downtown New Orleans. Activities are in support of a Job Fair taking place the next day.

Free T-shirt for All Volunteers
Each pre-registered volunteer will receive a free Helping Hands of Rehabilitation T-Shirt to readily identify them and serve as a memento. Make sure to indicate your desired shirt size on the Registration Form(s).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This Project is not an official program of IARP or its 2010 Forensic Conference. The Project is being organized solely by a group of volunteers (rehabilitation professionals like you), who call themselves the "Helping Hands of Rehabilitation." IARP does not provide any financial support to this group or the Project and IARP neither endorses nor objects to the Project. Participation is voluntary.
