The Territory Manager manages and directs the delivery of vocational rehabilitation products and services, including traditional voc rehab counseling, long term disability, expert testimony, litigation support, job analysis, voc & ergonomic assessments, labor market surveys, and other VR services. This position will manage VR services & employees in the upper NE region (PA, NY, CT, MA & New England); the ideal candidate must be located within territory. This position assumes responsibility for all Territory operational and administrative activities as well as personnel issues. Generally, maintains the highest level of authority within territory.

Responsibilities


1.      Develop, manage and direct staff to ensure the delivery of Cascade specific products and services. Assures compliance with all established work and customer specific standards.

2.      Recruit, develop and manage human resources in order to create a high performing results oriented staff
-Ensure personnel receive orientation, initial and on-going technical training.
-Manage performance management program including: establishing and communicating objectives, providing on-going coaching, and conducting performance reviews.  Identify performance problems and initiates disciplinary actions.
-Manage salary (and non-salary) budgets, make recommendations to Regional Manager/HO Management concerning promotions, terminations and staffing authorizations.

3.      Act as a technical expert and resource for staff, which includes usually maintaining the highest level of authority within department specific territory.  Refer problems and issues out of authority level to Regional Manager/HO Management.

4.      Ensure appropriate compliance with all legislation, corporate policies, and programs. Conducts quality assurance activities.

5.      Assign cases to staff based upon geographic area, expertise, caseload and customer preference, if necessary.

6.      Review, monitor and approve ongoing and ad hoc reports for territory.

7.      Assist Regional Manager/HO Management and other departments with new business.  Identify, solicit and qualify prospects for new business.  Plan sales strategy.  Provide ongoing service to existing accounts.

8.      Implement new and revised policies and procedures.

9.      Perform additional duties and/or is assigned special projects as requested.

10.  Assist the Regional Manager in the overall management of the operation.

11.  Must be available to travel and work irregular hours.

Qualifications:

Ability to develop, manage and direct reports and to effectively communicate operational procedures to field staff. Demonstrates leadership and innovation in achieving results. Advanced knowledge of current principles, laws, regulations and methods pertaining to the specific service area being managed; knowledge of department management practices, company operations (i.e. other staff & line departments) and policies. Related degree or equivalent plus 7-10 years of relevant and progressively more responsible work experience required (includes 4-5 years management experience).

Licensure/registration and special certification as required by law. Ability to act independently and make appropriate decisions Strong interpersonal, communication (written & oral) and customer service skills (including negotiation and problem solving). Excellent computer skills with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Training and/or experience in Vocational Rehabilitation in a Workers' Compensation environment is desirable.
