Carolinas Chapter Update July 1, 2007
Carolinas Chapter
The Carolinas Chapter had a good showing at the recent national conference in Washington, with eight members attending. They all thought the event was a success and enjoyed the diversity of the sessions offered.
The Carolinas Chapter enjoyed a regional seminar, entitled “Rehabilitation Dilemmas: What is your Solution?” on May 18, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Speakers addressed issues such as allergic exposure in the workplace, RSD and its effects on the injured worker, relaxation, biofeedback, meditation and hypnosis, as well as a “Town Hall” meeting on ethics, where scenarios were presented and groups came up with solutions. Attendance was good with about 50 participants.
The chapter recently held elections and the new board was announced, with Clarann Hull as President, Tina Bryant as Past-President, Jane Rouse, President-Elect, Carla Marshburn, Secretary. Members at Large are Linda Hanf, Adele Doering and Nancy Wells. The new board members were introduced at the May 18 seminar and began their official terms on June 1.
We look forward to continued growth in membership, continued training seminars, with one in South Carolina later this year, and a stronger voice in legislative issues in both North and South Carolina.
