Certificate Program in Life Care Planning
With more than 10 year's experience in training certified life care planners, this program is provided under the auspices of one of America's leading institutions of higher education: the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling at the College of Health Professions of The University of Florida.
The Life Care Planning Certificate Program is designed for individuals who are currently working in the healthcare marketplace and recognize the need for continuing professional advancement and development. Learn how to assess the lifelong needs of the catastrophically ill or injured from the onset of the injury/illness through life expectancy.
Designed for the working healthcare professional, the program is open to:
- Rehabilitation, medical and vocational professionals
- Rehabilitation counselors
- Registered nurses and registered rehabilitation nurses
- Psychologists
- Physicians
- Physical and occupational therapists
- Speech and language pathologists
- Other health care professions that qualify for certification
The Life Care Planning Certificate Program is composed of four on-site training sessions and four distance learning sessions, providing over 120 post-graduate hours of professional education and over 100 continuing education credits toward licensure and/or certification – all focused on life care planning for catastrophic case management, including vocational issues that are vital to life care planning. A Guide to Rehabilitation is the core curriculum used for the distance learning modules, with supplemental materials provided. Upon completion of Modules 1 & 2, participants may take the remaining modules out of sequence, at their convenience. Completion of the course is highly recommended within one year of the first modules taken. A certificate of completion issued by the University of Florida is awarded upon completion of all eight modules.
