Scope of Practice
Life Care Planning is an advanced practice which is collaborative in nature and includes the patient, family, care providers and all parties concerned in coordinating, accessing, evaluating and monitoring necessary services.
The IALCP believes professionals who develop life care plans must:
- Have a foundation of knowledge and practice
- Have an appropriate experience baseĀ
- Conduct an active practice which demonstrates application of
the appropriate professional processes - Perform specific methodologies demonstrating advanced practice
- Participate in professional organizations
- Participate in community and national organizations
