Job Responsibilities:
In this position, you will provide technical support to the Disability Benefits Division in the vocational and medical management of disability claims. Serve as a liaison between the DI Benefits staff and all physician and rehabilitation constituents, both within and outside of Northwestern Mutual, for vocational and medical analysis of disability claims. Identify appropriate candidates for vocational assistance and negotiate return to work plans that are mutually beneficial to the Insured and The Company.
Qualifications Required:
This exciting opportunity requires a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience, preferably in occupational medicine, worker’s compensation, or disability case management and a Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from an accredited rehabilitation program or related field with current CRC designation, and a minimum of 2-3 years experience in rehabilitation. Ability to use various rehabilitation methodologies to identify alternative occupations and specific job duties. Knowledge of disability insurance or prior experience in insurance claim management. Strong written and oral communication, analytical and decision making skills also required.
