Adaptive Transportation Safety:
Recommendations and Funding Options

Objectives:
1) Create an increased awareness of safety in accessible transportation vehicle options
2) Expand the Life Care Plan consultant’s expertise in evaluating and recommending accessible vehicle options available to individuals who experience disability and their families.
3) Outline component costs of accessible vehicles which should be considered in the Life Care Plan and alternative funding sources
4) Define accessible vehicle distributions concerns and recommendations in implementing the LCP vehicle recommendations within a Special Needs Trust context.

About the Presenter:
Kate Dussault began her career working with individuals with disabilities 21 years ago when her brother suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. She has a BS degree in biological psychology from the University of Colorado, a paralegal certificate, and attended the College for Certified Financial Planning.
In May 2007 in an effort to resolve the various problems associated with obtaining safe and affordable accessible transportation she established Mobility Support Systems, LLC (MSS®). Her goals with MSS® are to provide safe, affordable and easy Individual Transportation Services (ITS) to individuals who experience disability. ITS includes full evaluation of safety and appropriate recommendations to accessible vehicles and products, accessible vehicles provided on a lease basis, 24/7 emergency road side assistance, full maintenance program and a unique national insurance program.
