General Session - Can Ethics be an Absolute in the Field of Rehabilitation?
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Is Ethics an absolute – black and white or is it evolving as our culture and society change. Can it be black and white if we are a pluralistic society with many religions and cultures or if we have multiple sources and codes of ethics to answer to? To answer these questions we will review several scenarios and discuss the process for determining whether you are facing a hard decision or an ethical dilemma. To provide us guidance we will review a couple code of ethics (CRC, CDMS, CCM). The presentation will recruit answers from the audience, thereby getting them involved, stimulated and encourages the participant to think and come up with answers that help them apply the presentation directly to their daily routine.
