Welcome to IARP’s 27th annual professional development and leadership conference in Washington, DC. This year the conference is proud to be sponsored by two chapters – the Virginia and the Chesapeake Chapters encompassing Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. They have worked hard and have planned a welcome reception at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC. This will provide the attendees with an opportunity to get acquainted while visiting one of our newest museums.

In keeping with the location of the conference, there will be concurrent sessions regarding current federal legislation and programs. There will also be sessions with information on social security programs. In addition, we have speakers that will cover updated information within the field of life care planning, case management, disability management and forensics.

I am especially happy to see increased international participation in the conference. Dr. Norm Hursh will be moderating a session that will include speakers / rehabilitation professionals from countries outside of the United States and Canada. We will continue to expand our programming to include
international members of the association.

April is usually beautiful this time of year in Washington, DC and we hope you have an exciting time in the nation’s capital, and that you are able to see some of the sights in addition to attending the conference.
