Return to Work (RTW) Program Specialist

February 14, 2008 - Stanford University, recognized as one of the world’s leading research and teaching institutions, is currently looking for a Return to Work (RTW) Program Specialist.

This position provides the unique opportunity to implement and oversee all aspects of the RTW program within a prestigious university setting.  The RTW Program Specialist works closely with the Manager of Liability and Employment Practices regarding all aspects of an effective, efficient return to work program. In addition to program and operational responsibilities, this position helps to ensure that the University comply with all labor laws and University policies and ensure the program is effectively developed and managed.

The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of relevant experience, preferably in a university environment.  The candidate must possess familiarity with ADA, FMLA, and other federal and state laws.  Experience with performing job analysis, working knowledge of formal return to work programs, knowledge of CA Workers Compensation Law affecting Return to Work such as offers of accommodation, vocational rehabilitation and permanent disability determination and familiarity with ergonomic assessment and its use in accommodation would be highly beneficial.

Our candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organizational and analytical skills.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed, as well as the ability to work with diverse client groups such as students, employees, faculty, visitors, and business partners.

A four Bachelors Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Healthcare related field, Human Resources or Business; or a graduate of a nursing program is essential; an MBA is preferred.  Candidates who have experience with developing a successful RTW program in a university setting are ideal.
