LCP Summit 2010: Pave the Way
MESSAGE FROM CHAIR: Summit Promotes LCP Unity
As a Rehabilitation Counselor and Case Manager with over 22 years in the field, I strive to keep up on the developments of our specialty area on an ongoing basis. Sure, I obtain CEU's, read the Journals and keep up on the listservs, but I also enjoy and reap great benefit from being a part of what makes us strong Life Care Planners.
I see the work that we do as very important. I also recognize we come from many different backgrounds; personally, educationally and even acknowledging our differing credentials. But whether you are a Rehabilitation Counselor, Nurse, Doctor, Therapist, etc... from New England or New Mexico, North Dakota or South Carolina, Hawaii or Canada, the Summit is the place where we strengthen our field by actively looking at what we do, how we do it and how to make our field stronger and more united.
IARP Life Care Planning Summits lead the way in bringing us all together. I began as an attendee, then as a volunteer, now I sit as Chair along with some very smart, hard working and fabulous people. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the Summit and its benefits are countless. I hope you too will take the time to join us, join our journey and help pave the way.
