Cascade Disability Management provides quality, timely and cost-effective vocational rehabilitation services aimed at containing claims costs and returning injured workers to gainful employment as quickly and safely as possible.  As a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, you will interview and evaluate claimants to determine degree of disability and employability and provide vocational services to claimant's cases, which do include difficult issues and/or injuries. Acting as a liaison with all parties involved in the rehab process, this role will develop and implement the vocational rehabilitation plan, conduct ongoing assessments of the plan for successful case management and complete and maintain appropriate documentation (i.e. case notes, reports, billing, etc.). The ideal candidate for this position must be available to travel and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities:

·         Interview and evaluate claimants to determine degree of disability and employability

·         Provide vocational services to claimant's cases, which do possess difficult case issues and/or injuries

·         Effectively manage assigned case load of disability/vocational cases

·         Develop and implement the vocational rehabilitation plan

·         Conduct ongoing assessments of the plan for successful case management

·         Act as liaison with all parties involved in the rehab process

·         Complete and maintain appropriate documentation (i.e. case notes, reports, billing, etc.)

·         Develop and maintain effective business relationships with customers

·         Accurately and appropriately charge for services rendered

·         Obtain new referrals from existing accounts

·         Perform additional duties and/or is assigned special projects as requested

·         Must be available to travel and work irregular hours

Qualifications:

·         Advanced ability to analyze and make sound critical thinking judgments and to accurately document activities

·         Knowledge of medical terminology with emphasis on return to work and disability management

·         Advanced oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with claimants, medical professionals, employers, claims staff and others

·         Excellent negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates

·         Advanced knowledge of state, local and federal laws related to vocational rehab

·         Proficient computer skills

·         Bilingual skills preferred

Education required: Master's Degree, special certification (Certified Rehabilitation Counsel(CRC) or Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) designation required plus 1-3 years of work experience in vocational rehabilitation or related field required (preferably in worker's compensation)

Salary range: $55,000-68,000 annually
