Full Tutorial:

In this tutorial we will cover editing your contact information, professional certifications and privacy settings.

First, you will want to visit the IARP Connect site. You can reach this page either by starting at IARP’s home page and clicking on the Top Menu item, or you can go directly to rehabpro.org/connect. I recommend bookmarking this site so you can find it easily.

Once you arrive at the IARP Connect landing page, drag your mouse over Directory and select My IARP Profile. You will be directed to login if you haven’t already done so.

Upon landing on the My IARP Profile page, you will find contact information related to your IARP membership. If any changes need to be made to this information, click “Edit My Contact Information, Education, Certifications, & Licenses”. It is also via this link that you may include information under the Education, Certifications and Licenses headings.

From this page, you may click on either of the bracketed items (“Edit Information” or “Change Password” to update that information.

Selecting “Edit Information” allows you to review your membership status as well as update contact information, designations/certifications and state/federal licenses.

Under “Personal Information”, after the usual name and professional title fields, you’ll see “Designation” and “Organization Name”.  In the Designation field, you may enter the short acronyms of any professional certifications (e.g., MEd, CRC, CDMS, etc.). Do not include educational acronyms such as Ph.D. since those are options under “Suffix”. These designations will be featured after your full name on the My IARP Profile. Complete “Organization Name”, if applicable, with your current employer, school, etc.

Finally, check the box to the right of “Do Not Publish Info Online” if you do not want to include any information on the public site. Only IARP-HQ will have access to the profile.

If you want to pick and choose what information you’ll share online without hiding your entire profile, we will cover that process in just a few seconds.

Next you may update “Address Information” with Work, Home, Billing or Other addresses. Please be sure to confirm which is your Primary Address by checking the appropriate box. IARP-HQ will transmit all postal mail related to your membership to this address. Similarly update “Phone & Fax Information”, checking a Primary box as appropriate.

Editing your e-mail addresses follows the same steps, but please notice that if you select a new primary e-mail address, this will change your username to the Web site and IARP Connect. In other words, you will always use your primary address to login to online resources.

Finally, to fully harness the networking tools of IARP Connect, you should include additional information such as degrees, state/federal licenses and professional certifications. Any suffixes and designations your included under Personal Information are not transferred to this area. To highlight more than one certification, hold down the “ctrl” key before selecting the second, third, etc. certification.

To save all of this information and have it immediately published on your IARP Connect My IARP profile, be sure to click Save.

After saving the information, you should review your privacy settings. This can be done by selecting “Profile Preferences” from the left hand menu.  First, you should determine whether you want community members to be able to contact you.  By choosing yes, community members may send you messages via the Network system to your Network inbox.

Next, you can specify which e-mail address should be used for system notifications.  The default address will be the same as the one listed on your profile as Primary.   You can then choose which of these three types of notifications will be sent to your external e-mail address.

And your last step is to select your preferred level of privacy for each item of contact information.  “My Contacts” will allow only those Contacts that you assertively accept as IARP Connect contacts to view that piece of information. “Members Only” allows all IARP Connect members to view that piece of information. “Public” allows even non-members to view the information. “Nobody” keeps it private for your eyes only.
