Lisa ClappIt was not planned. I was hired as a research assistant initially, and after learning more about the industry returned to get my Masters degree. I was fortunate to have willing and able mentors along the way.

Masters Degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Ottawa University - night and weekend classes while working fulltime for a national rehabilitation services private provider.

Lisa describes the development of her practice...

At the onset, had established contacts and referral sources from the industry through prior 10 years of employment. Started out as a sole practitioner, then hired employees who were mentored and introduced to industry contacts.

Lisa's "Ah-Ha!" moments that shaped or changed her career path...

Too many to list herein! The biggest one however, was the limitations I experienced while working in the corporate world, and the ability to provide services in a more flexible and amenable environment through my private practice.

Numerous. The local Workers' Compensation Claims Association, the State Bar Association, and charity and fund raising events for Kid's Chance of Arizona and the Fred Brick Memorial Rehabilitant of the Year Award program.

Sample the various arenas where professional trained in vocational rehabilitation work, prior to attempting to do primarily expert witness work. Time, experience, and wisdom are key.
